Computers are part of our everyday life and it has changed dramatically during my lifetime. Computers have shrunk since the first one I saw. My college roommate worked in a building that took up an entire block and It held ONLY one computer. We had to write bits of information on the top of a data card and turn them in to have the information punched out by a keypunch operator. The cards were then inserted one at a time into a big machine. If the hole was not wholly punched….. Was that the beginning of a hanging Chad? And now what we thought was impossible has become everyday. Computers are smaller and there is no end to what we will ask of them.
